Saemangeum Project

Well, another project like Palm Jumeirah, is in progress in Asia. The Saemangeum Project, currently underway in South Korea's Jeollabuk-do province, is the largest land reclamation project in Asia for a decade. The 33.9-kilometer seawall built in the West Sea that created a vast reclaimed area which is being developed as a metropolitan city with tourism, residential and industrial facilities, scheduled for completion by 2020.

Engineers are filling in 400 square kilometers on Yellow Sea to create space for environmentally friendly agriculture, a new port, and cutting-edge technology facilities. It is designed and implemented to achieve a better balance between the natural and built environment. It is a city which is more resource-efficient in the way that it uses water, energy and recycles waste.

Now, my real concern is when will Chennai or any Indian cities will have similar projects like resource-efficient in the way that it uses water, energy and recycles waste. Well, in another way the possibility are when the American companies need their machinery's and equipments to make huge profits, then definitely they land with mega projects any where in the world, till then we have to wait. May be in 2050?
